Several members met at Lake Mission Viejo for a leisurely afternoon cruise in May. We picked out the mansions/grand homes that we would love to own (sans the property taxes!) and enjoyed yummy snacks.

A big thank you to all that donated snack goodies and gift cards for the Vets at Saddleback College. Did you know there are around 1500 Vets that attend the College? Terrence and Phillip and were very appreciative to have these items for an event they were holding the next day.

2022 Bad to the Bone Good Citizens Fundraiser
April 2, 2022, our Chapter’s fundraiser, “Bad to the Bone,” was a huge success! We raised scholarship funds for 6 local high school seniors in our community selected as their school’s Good Citizens. And, we had a great time getting together.
2021 Wreaths Across America
National Wreaths Across America Day, December 18th, 2021: Mission Viejo Chapter, NSDAR and family members joined the ceremony then laid wreaths on the graves of veterans to honor their service. For the first time El Toro Memorial Park had enough wreaths to cover all the veterans buried here. Our Chapter sponsored 184 wreaths for our 3rd year as a sponsor.
Service to History
Chapter members planted a patriot garden at the state headquarters. A marker was made to commemorate Revolutionary War Patriots for America's 250 year anniversary.
Service to the Community
Margaret, our Chapter’s entry, won the 5th Annual Scarecrow Contest in the Best Traditional category!! Congratulations and many thanks to our scarecrow’s creator, for another awesome job! Thank you to all our dedicated voters!!
What a wonderful way to get information into our community about America’s colorful history, as well as getting the word out about our chapter and NSDAR.
The chapter made 85 quilts, and donated onesies, socks and hangers to the Nurse Family Partnership of Orange County. The nurses delivered them to first-time Orange County moms in need.
Service to Veterans
For our chapter’s DAR of Service 2021 we stuffed female Dopp Kits with tons of toiletries. Each kit also was pinned with a thank you veteran pin and is headed to the Long Beach VA Hospital. Other daughters completed thank you cards which will be given to the hospitalized Vets on Thanksgiving. Much appreciation to all our members who sewed kits, made donations, and helped today! We had fun!

DAR PROJECT PATRIOT - February 12, 2021
Mission Viejo Chapter, NSDAR, dropped off 35 dozen home-baked cookies this morning for their Valentine’s Day parties!
DAR PROJECT PATRIOT - December 2020
In December 2020,our chapter dropped off 54 dozen cookies,165 toys, and other donations going to the families of the Marines and Navy Seals at Camp Pendleton and 29 Palms. Many children of these active military families will have a brighter holiday season!
Wreaths Across America - December 19th, 2020
On December 19, 2020, at 9 a.m., Mission Viejo Chapter.NSDAR, will be helping El Toro Memorial Park to remember and honor our veterans by laying remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes.

Mission Viejo Chapter, NSDAR, Daughters are excited! Our entry “Julia, the WWI Nurse” won in the Best Traditional category in the City of Mission Viejo Fourth Annual Scarecrow Contest!! She is now wearing her winning blue ribbon!

More World War II veterans received certificates this week. We also sent out birthday cards to 100-year-old veterans.
National DAR Day of Service October 11, 2020
The NSDAR "Day of Service "takes place annually around October 11th. In 2020 our chapter went to Aliso Beach and cleaned up.

DAR Service for Veterans 2020 Dopp Kit Project
The Dopp Kit project is complete! The Mission Viejo Chapter, NSDAR, ladies made Dopp kits with an assortment of toiletries for veterans hospitalized at the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital. The Dopp kits looked great!
During the 2020 Covid 19 pandemic, our ladies sewed and donated masks to Americans in need.

Wreaths Across America - December 14th, 2019
A wonderful program to honor our veterans who served our country, by providing wreaths during the holiday season. The wreaths are sponsored by individuals, companies, and charitable organizations then placed on the graves of veterans in our local cemetery, El Toro Memorial Park.
